Information on new Community Connections building in Ketchikan

Coming Soon!!

In 2012, Community Connections will be opening our new office in Ketchikan. Find out how you can help at the bottom of this page.

Community Connections has been serving Southern Southeast Alaska for the past 25 years. Currently services are provided to nearly 700 customers in Ketchikan, Metlakatla and on Prince of Wales Island. We are the 4th largest private employer in Ketchikan.

All programs share the goal of supporting participation in home and community life. The organization’s growth has forced us to find a building that will accommodate all of our programs and support our ability to continue to provide the highest quality services.

How do our services benefit the communities we serve?

  • Individuals who might otherwise be forced to live in institutions or move out of their homes or communities are able to live at home with the supports they receive.
  • We are able to provide services that support employment for individuals who might otherwise be unable to find work.
  • Youth who might otherwise be sent out of town or out of state are able to receive supports that allow them to stay in school and stay in their home community.
  • Caregivers who are at risk of burnout receive respite from their help-giving responsibilities.
  • Families with young children who are delayed or at risk receive services to maximize their developmental potential and school readiness.

How will the new building support these services?

  • All programs will be housed under the same roof. This supports the collaboration that needs to occur between programs who share customers, and leads to more efficiency and effective communication.
  • Therapy spaces will be adequate to meet the needs of customers.
  • Customers will have more choices regarding where services occur and there will be space to support services in our building.

How can I help?

  • Consider making a personally meaningful donation to our building fund and be a part of this project. Whether you give $25 or $25,000 what matters is your demonstration of support for the organization and the project. Please visit our donations page for more information.
  • Share your energy and enthusiasm by being a part of our capital campaign committee. The time commitment is small and of limited duration (3-5 hours every two weeks through June 2012)
